Heat treatment HT ISPM 15 FAO

Casollalegno, with the use of a highly technological system for producing standard or custom wooden pallets, aims to help protect the forests by offering a HT (High Temperature) treatment that meets the requirements of Statement FAO.
This involves heat treating the pallets in order to reduce the risk of spreading harmful organisms.
The heat treatment uses a process of drying and evaporating the wood without the use of harmful chemicals and leaves the wood free of fungi, insects, and pinewood nematodes that pose a serious threat to the health of humans, animals, and plants.

In order to reduce the risk of harmful organisms spreading in the forests, the FAO issued the ISPM 15 certification on April 2002, which defines the guidelines for the proper use of wood packaging used for exportation.
The ISPM 15 requires that all wood packaging material intended for exportation are subjected to heat treatment to eliminate pests and then marked with the appropriate FITOK identification mark.
