In the food and pharmaceutical sectors, kiln drying is strongly recommended to reduce the wood's moisture content, minimizing the risk of mold development.
The drying process is the only effective method to prevent the formation of fungal mold on wood. The coniferous wood typically used for packaging can develop mold even at relatively low moisture levels. This issue can only be mitigated by reducing the moisture content below 18%, which is achieved by placing the wood in drying kilns for 3–5 days, depending on the season and weather conditions.

Load Capacity Estimate: This is an indicative value, useful in the early stages of pallet design. It is calculated using the Palettes simulation software, developed by the French industry association Sypal.
Load Capacity Test: This is an official value that defines the operating limits of the pallet. It is obtained through breakage and load tests carried out at an accredited laboratory of which we are members.
The necessary tests for determining pallet load capacity are performed according to the UNI EN ISO 8611 standard, based on the intended use: racking, handling, stacking, and compression.
